So it seems like a chicken and egg thing: I have read a lot about the effect that depression can have on cancer growth (i.e., depression of the immune system, for starters (see Cancer as a Turning Point by Lawrence LeShan for more about that and what to do about it), and of course having cancer is plenty depressing in and of itself, but that the tumors also send out "messengers" is new to me.
